Dagr

Dagr

Listed by Empire Magazine as one of the ‘Best Films to Watch in 2024,’ Dagr is a British found footage folk horror set in the eerie landscapes of Wales. Drawing inspiration from classics like The Blair Witch Project and Ghostwatch, the film uniquely weaves together multiple timelines, creating a layered experience that’s described as a “found footage within a found footage within a found footage” narrative.

The story follows two “Robin Hood” YouTubers, Thea and Louise, who infiltrate an “arty” commercial shoot by posing as caterers. Their plan is to steal expensive equipment to distribute to those in need, all while documenting their exploits for their followers. However, upon arriving at the remote Welsh mansion where the shoot is supposed to take place, they find it eerily deserted. The only evidence of the film crew’s presence is behind-the-scenes footage that hints at something terrifying. As Thea and Louise delve deeper into the footage, they grapple with a chilling question: is what they’re seeing a cleverly staged prank, or are they about to live through the worst nightmare of their lives?
